Profiles | Scott Kehler
Born in the lovely rural town/city of Winkler, MB, I have worked at a number of jobs, from working on the farm, to flipping burgers at McDonald’s (don’t hold that against me, I was young and wanted my own car). I have always had an interest in physical activity and exercise, which led me to obtain my degree at the University of Manitoba. This Fall I am pursuing my Master’s degree in Kinesiology to extend my knowledge of the human body.
True or False? Physical activity and exercise are only for people that are healthy and do not have complications or disease. FALSE. Physical activity and exercise have been scientifically shown to aid in the treatment (and prevention) of a number of health problems, such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis, and sarcopenia (muscle loss).
My best day ever would have to be surrounded by the wilderness (of course not when it is minus 50 degrees Celsius with the wind chill), just to take a moment to get away from our fast-paced world.
